Meet the creatures from ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them’

  • Niffler -  mischievous, yet adorable creatures that look like a cross between a mole and a duck-billed platypus and like to steal shiny things. The animals have a magical pouch that allows them to store their treasures.
  • Bowtruckle - cute little critters that look like a cross between some sort of Praying Mantis and a stick bug brought to life. Unlike stick bugs, Bowtruckles are actually made out tree stems, with their own little branches. They are particularly adept at picking locks.
  • Demiguise - primate-like critters, which resemble a little orangutan, that have the ability to become invisible at will. They can also see the immediate future, making them hard to catch.
  • Erumpent -  these large creatures look like a rhinoceros, but can actually be quite friendly despite their intimidating form. On the top of their head is a massive, glowing horn full of a lethal fluid which will explode anything it pierces.
  • Thunderbird - big and beautiful majestic birds. Not only can they create storms by flapping their wings, but they can also sense danger.
  • Occamy - two-legged winged serpents that look like a mix between a bird and a dragon. As Newt explains in the film, their egg shells are made of pure silver, and they have the ability to shrink or grow to fit in the space available to them.
  • Nundu -  gigantic leopards-like creatures whose necks expand like a puffer fish
  • Swooping Evil - reptiles with the wings of a beautiful butterfly. Their venom can be used to rid of bad memories.
  • Graphorns - dinosaur-like creatures whose hides are tougher than a dragon’s and can repel most spells. Newt revealed he had the only breeding pair left in the world and, thanks to his care, they already had one offspring.
